**Elissa Alves ***(she/her) *****is a nonprofit head of administration residing in the NYC area.
At the Connected Learning Alliance, Elissa leads administrative, HR, and operational functions, driving organizational effectiveness and ensuring strong systems, compliance, and execution. She spearheads high-visibility initiatives, from annual reports and year-end donation campaigns to the Connected Learning Summit, an international conference for researchers, educators, and developers. Elissa serves as liaison to the Board of Directors, and oversees HR operations, including payroll, compliance, and organizational processes.
Prior to the Connected Learning Alliance, Elissa worked in the children’s publishing industry, tracking over 100+ titles from acquisition to publication and solely managing social media platforms for a thriving literary agency. She has additional experience in writing and copyediting, graphic and PDF design, and video editing.
Elissa believes in accessibility and engagement, and aims to contribute to a more communicative and just world. In her spare time, she plays violin, leads a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, reads at the nearest park, walks with her beloved pup Penny, taste-tests new coffee blends, and bakes a mean loaf of banana bread.
